Kolora Creative LLC ("Kolora," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Kolora application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Kolora, participate in a Kolora beta through Apple TestFlight, contact us for support, or otherwise interact with us about the app.
Privacy at a glance
- Kolora does not require an account.
- The Kolora app does not contain advertising or third-party tracking technology.
- Kolora does not sell personal information.
- The app processes imported timeline packages, video, images, audio, project metadata, and color adjustments on your device.
- The app does not upload your projects or media to servers operated by Kolora Creative LLC.
- A file leaves Kolora only when you direct the app or the operating system to export or share it, or when an Apple service such as device backup or TestFlight operates under your Apple settings and Apple's terms.
1. Information Kolora handles on your device
When you choose or share a supported timeline package with Kolora, the app may access and process:
- the package and its included video, images, audio, project metadata, clip timing, layer information, transformations, and supported effects;
- file names, file sizes, file timestamps, media format details, and project identifiers needed to open, validate, display, preserve, and export the project;
- color-grade settings, color-space selections, generated LUTs, project thumbnails, playback proxies, extracted media, caches, and validated export packages; and
- app preferences and transient playback-performance measurements used to adapt preview quality and improve playback on the device.
Kolora uses a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of a project package to associate local editable grade state and thumbnails with the correct local working copy. The fingerprint is not used to identify you or your device and is not transmitted to Kolora Creative LLC.
This information is processed inside the app's sandbox on your device. Kolora does not transmit it to us. Under Apple's App Privacy definitions, information processed only on the device and not sent to a server is not considered collected by the developer.
2. Files stored by the app
To provide editable projects, responsive playback, and round-trip exports, Kolora may store the following in its private app storage:
- working copies of timeline packages;
- extracted project media;
- editable grade state and project-library metadata;
- project and timeline thumbnails;
- rebuildable playback proxies and temporary cache files; and
- generated export packages and LUT data.
These files remain on the device until you remove them using Kolora's project and storage controls, the app replaces or clears them during normal operation, the operating system removes purgeable data, or you uninstall the app.
Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, the operating system may include some data in a device or iCloud backup. Kolora does not operate the backup service or receive your backup contents. Apple handles backup data under its own terms and privacy policy.
3. Information we may receive through TestFlight
If you test Kolora through Apple TestFlight, Apple automatically collects certain beta-app crash logs and usage information and may share that information with Kolora Creative LLC as the application provider. Depending on how you joined the beta and what you submit, this may include:
- your name and email address;
- app installation, session, crash, and usage information;
- device model, operating-system version, language, time zone, connection type, carrier, screen resolution, available disk space, and battery information; and
- feedback comments, screenshots, or other material that you choose to submit.
If you join through a TestFlight public link, Apple states that your name and email address are not visible to the application provider. We use TestFlight information only to operate the beta, respond to feedback, diagnose problems, and improve Kolora. We do not share TestFlight information with third parties for advertising or tracking.
Apple controls TestFlight's collection and retention practices. Apple states that it retains beta feedback for one year and may retain crash-log and usage data until related bugs are resolved. For more information, review Apple's TestFlight & Privacy notice.
The initial Kolora TestFlight beta is planned to run for approximately one month. We do not intend to retain separately downloaded copies of TestFlight feedback or diagnostic information for more than 30 days after the beta ends, except when reasonably necessary to finish investigating an unresolved issue, respond to a tester, protect the app or its users, or comply with law. Information that remains within Apple's systems is subject to Apple's separate retention practices.
4. Information you provide when contacting us
If you contact us by email or another support channel, we may receive your name, email address, message, and any files, screenshots, project samples, diagnostic details, or other information you choose to provide. Please do not send confidential or sensitive media unless it is necessary for support and you are authorized to share it.
We use support information to respond to you, investigate reported problems, improve Kolora, protect the app and its users, and maintain appropriate business records.
5. Information handled through our website
The Kolora Creative website at https://koloracreative.com is hosted through Northwest Registered Agent's website hosting service. The hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, and date and time. The provider handles that information under its own applicable terms and privacy practices.
As of the date of this policy, Kolora Creative LLC does not operate website analytics, a contact-form service, or a mailing list. You may contact us directly at info@koloracreative.com.
If we later add analytics, contact forms, mailing lists, cookies, or similar website services, we will update this policy before or when those services are activated and provide consent controls where required by law. Website information is not combined with the on-device projects or media processed by the Kolora app.
6. How information is used
Kolora uses information only as needed to:
- import, validate, display, grade, preview, save, and export projects on your device;
- preserve editable grade state and improve local playback performance;
- provide requested support;
- operate and improve the TestFlight beta;
- operate and secure our website;
- respond to communications you send directly to us;
- detect, investigate, and correct technical or security problems; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
7. When information may be disclosed
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information may be disclosed only in the following limited circumstances:
- At your direction. When you export or share a package, you choose the destination through Apple's system interface. The receiving app, storage provider, or service handles the file under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers. Apple may process information for App Store distribution, TestFlight, device backup, diagnostics, and related platform services. Northwest Registered Agent may process website-hosting information to provide its contracted service to us. Service-provider processing is also governed by the provider's applicable terms and privacy practices.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request, or to protect rights, safety, security, and integrity.
- Business changes. If Kolora Creative LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, relevant business records may be transferred subject to appropriate protections and applicable law.
8. Retention
On-device project files and app data are retained as described in Section 2 and remain under your control through Kolora's storage settings and the operating system.
We retain support and direct email communications only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, improve our services, maintain legitimate business records, and comply with law. Website server-log retention is controlled by the hosting provider under its applicable settings and privacy practices.
Our intended retention for separately downloaded TestFlight information is described in Section 3. Apple separately controls its retention of information processed through TestFlight, the App Store, analytics, diagnostics, and backup services.
9. Security
Kolora uses Apple's app sandbox and platform file-protection mechanisms to help protect locally stored information. Some locally written project-state and thumbnail files use data protection that keeps them unavailable until the device has been unlocked after a restart. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and requests
You can:
- choose which timeline packages to open or share with Kolora;
- remove stored projects and imported package copies;
- clear rebuildable playback caches and generated exports;
- delete Kolora to remove data in the app's local container, subject to any separate device backups controlled by Apple;
- manage device backup, analytics, and TestFlight settings through Apple; and
- contact us to request access to or deletion of support or TestFlight information that we can reasonably identify and control.
Kolora has no user accounts and does not receive the project and media content processed only on your device. As a result, we cannot access or delete that on-device content remotely.
To make a privacy request, contact info@koloracreative.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
11. International users and legal bases
Kolora is offered worldwide. Kolora Creative LLC is the controller of personal information it receives through support, TestFlight, and the Kolora Creative website. On-device project and media processing is controlled by you and is not received by Kolora Creative LLC.
Where a legal basis is required, we process personal information as necessary to provide a service or respond to your request, for our legitimate interests in securing and improving Kolora and our website, with consent where we request it, and as necessary to comply with law. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Kolora Creative LLC is based in the United States. Apple and future website providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we and our providers will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your information.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
12. Children
Kolora is a professional creative tool, is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable local law, and will not be offered in the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support, beta feedback, or our website, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
13. Third-party services and links
Kolora may open Apple's share interface or link to external pages such as this Privacy Policy. Third-party apps, websites, storage providers, timeline editors, and Apple services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Kolora Creative LLC is not responsible for their independent privacy practices.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Kolora, our website, our practices, Apple platform requirements, or applicable law. We will post the updated policy at https://koloracreative.com/privacy and revise the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide any additional notice required by law.
